Well, here I am again. I have two small children, and sometimes it seems impossible for me to get any time to myself.
P. S . The babies are sleeping, shhh! :)
Here goes nothing,
No, I don't consider myself a yarn snob, although I don't like the feel of a plain acrylic yarn. I don't know how to spin, I have friends that have their own wheels and I want to learn but, for that I would need some spare time, think I can pick some of that up in the local grocery store? I have crocheted in the past though I don't follow patterns. I have been knitting for several years, but I'm still a beginner. I learned to do dish rags, and that's all I did for years. Although you could say I'm branching out. That's the name of the scarf I'm doing now; Branching out. As for what I store my needles in, I have an old needle case. No, I don't have an online wish list, just one in my head. My favorite scent is The Body Shop's: Satsuma and I love baked apple pie candles. My favorite candy? Why chocolate of course.
I love to bead, as all my knitting friends can attest to, I make and sell stitch markers, and all sorts of other things. I would like to get a glass torch, to make my own beads. I love to make bath supplies: soap, milk bath, and bath salts. I give a lot of these away as gifts. I like a lot of different music, country, classical, oldies rock n roll etc. My favorite color is purple, with light greens following close second. I am not a fan of the dark orange family. I have a wonderful cat named Ginger, a silly dog named RueRue ( a 2 yr old's pronunciation ). I do wear scarves, gloves, and hats, but have never had a poncho.
I prefer to knit a yarn that is extremely soft to the touch, other than that, I'm not that picky. Acrylic is yucky to the fingertips. My current obsession, would be that scarf I mentioned earlier. And yes I love home made goodies. I have no preference over circ. Or straight. Bamboo/wood then aluminum. No, I don't own either winder or swift.
I learned from a neighbor, My gram and I learned at the same time, sitting in the neighbors yard. My first dishrag was a cotton, Swiss cheese. :) 23. ? Mickey Mouse, is there any other? CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!! I collect beads, old fountain pens, old ink wells, and of course all things Mickey Mouse. I actually don't have a knitting magazine subscription.
I'm just waiting for time to go and get birch knitting needles. So much to learn, where do I start? I might like to try socks one day but honestly, they intimidate me! My b-day is May 29.
Thank you for coming, and remember: Live well Laugh often Love much
